Cookie policy

This policy honestly describes what the Protein Bázis shop stores in your browser. In short: the minimum required for the shop to work, and nothing more.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They let a site remember things like your cart contents or your chosen language.

2. Which cookies we use

We use two kinds of cookie: strictly necessary ones, which need no consent, and statistics ones, which load only if you have explicitly accepted them. We still use no advertising or tracking cookies.

• Strictly necessary cookie Always active

A single session cookie (PHPSESSID), without which the shop would not work:

  • keeping your cart contents across pages,
  • keeping you logged in,
  • remembering your chosen language and currency,
  • securing the checkout process (CSRF protection).

This cookie expires when you close the browser, is not accessible to third parties and cannot be read from JavaScript (HttpOnly). Under ePrivacy rules, strictly necessary cookies do not require prior consent.

• Local storage

If you open the product assistant chat, we store a random conversation id in your browser local storage so the thread survives a page change. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to our server, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Statistics cookies (Google Analytics 4)

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit and which pages are useful. These cookies load only if you have accepted — before that the measurement code does not run at all.

  • What we measure: pages viewed, how long the visit lasted, where you came from, device type.
  • What we do not: your IP is processed in anonymised form, and advertising personalisation is switched off.
  • Cookies: _ga and _ga_*, set by Google, lasting up to 2 years.
  • Processor: Google Ireland Limited. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)).

You can change your mind at any time. Withdrawal takes effect immediately: we stop measuring and delete any Google cookies already set.

4. How to manage cookies

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Since we only use necessary cookies, blocking them will stop the cart and login from working.
